DO YOU RECOMMEND INSTALLING THE WAREPAD INTO A USED HANGER AND OR EQUALIZER?
Yes. The EWP Poly Wear Pad will save on additional wear to your hanger and equalizer. The Warepad will also save on additional wear to your leaf spring. When installing to a used hanger and equalizer, smooth out any rough metal edges. This will save on excessive wear to the Warepad. If you are installing over multiple layers of welded in pads, you must remove them. We do not recommend installing the Warepads into a totally worn out OEM part. The Warepads are designed to save on additional wear to the hanger or equalizer and leaf spring. They are not designed to improve a part that is not salvageable.

FASTENER KITS – DOES THE WAREPAD COME WITH THE BOLTS?
Each Warepad comes with a Fastener Kit.

CAN I INSTALL THE WAREPAD INTO THE OEM EQUALIZER WHILE THE OEM EQUALIZER IS ON THE TRAILER FRAME?
Yes, you can. The Assembly Instructions include two methods that will assist you in the installation of the OEM Equalizer while on the trailer.

REYCO EQUALIZER – DO YOU HAVE TO DRILL A HOLE OR CAN YOU USE THE EXISTING HOLE?
You should not use the existing hole. Per the Assembly Instructions, you must drill a 3/8” hole. The fastener bolt is 3/8”. If you use the existing hole that is larger than 3/8”, the bolt will not fit properly. This may cause the Warepad to loosen and fall out.

REYCO 21B OPEN TOP EQUALIZER – CAN YOU INSTALL A WAREPAD INTO THE OPEN TOP OEM EQUALIZER?
Yes you can. You must first weld a ¼” plate to cover the opening in order to properly fasten the Warepad to the OEM Equalizer. The plate should be raised 1/8" above the equalizer so that you get a strong weld.

EQUALIZER – I CANNOT GET THE DRILL INTO THE EQUALIZER WITHOUT TAKING THE AXLE DOWN. WHAT CAN I DO?
By lifting up the axle it will rotate the equalizer to make room to install the Warepad mounting bolt.

WHY ARE THE WAREPADS YELLOW?
The EWP Warepads are a specially formulated yellow color so that maintenance personnel can easily identify the Warepad during maintenance inspections and drivers can easily identify a potential problem in their daily walk around.

CAN YOU INSTALL THE EWP WAREPAD OVER AN EXISTING STEEL MANUFACTURERS WAREPAD?
You can, but, you are changing the overall suspension height. If you choose to install them over the existing steel manufacturers wear pad you should install the EWP Warepad in all the hangers and equalizers. Therefore, the suspension will be at equal heights. If you do not install them on all the hangers and equalizers, the EWP Warepads may wear uneven or cause excessive wear to the EWP Warepads in certain areas. Call your Sales Person for support.

CAN YOU INSTALL THE EWP WAREPAD ON ONLY PART OF THE SUSPENSION? FOR INSTANCE ON ONLY THE HANGERS BUT NOT THE EQUALIZERS?
We recommend that you install the Warepads on all hangers and equalizers. If you choose to install them on only the hangers, you are changing the overall suspension height. Therefore, the suspension will be at unequal heights which may cause excessive wear to the Warepads in certain areas. Call your Sales Person for support.
